Raised Letter and Braille Types
Raised letters and braille can be produced using different fabrication methods depending on design, durability, and code requirements. Each method offers distinct visual and tactile characteristics.
UV Printed
Raised characters and braille are created using layered UV-cured inks applied directly to the sign face.
Engraved
Raised letters and braille are mechanically engraved into the substrate to create permanent tactile characters.
Inlayed
Precision laser-cut letters are inlaid into engraved surfaces, producing durable, permanent tactile characters with a refined finish and look.
Laser Cut
Raised letters are laser cut from material and applied to the sign surface as separate elements. You have a choice of Raster or UV Printed braille.
Braille Types
Braille can be produced using different methods that affect appearance, texture, and color options. The examples below show the two braille types we offer.
Raster Braille
Individual holes are drilled into the sign face and braille beads are inserted to form tactile characters; available in clear, black, or white.
UV Printed Braille
Braille is built up using layered UV-cured ink, creating a smooth, dome-shaped profile and allowing for most colors, including clear.
